The 8th edition of European Cyber Week, a major event in the field of cybersecurity and cyber defense, will be held from November 21 to 23, 2023 at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes. Organized by the Pole d'Excellence Cyber, this annual event will focus on recruitment and diversity, with a reinforced training day and a unique challenge, "Hack4EveryOne," specifically designed for neuroatypical profiles.

Program and activities

This year, the event will be structured around several key areas:

  • Panels and conferences: Delegations, including a reinforced Canadian delegation, will participate in panels covering technological, legal, political, governmental, and societal topics.
  • Focus on smart edge devices: The C&ESAR conferences will address the cybersecurity of smart edge devices, covering topics such as mobile, IoT, and Edge Computing.
  • Artificial intelligence for defense: The Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Defense (CAID), organized by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, will be a key attraction, underscoring the importance of AI in the defense sector.
  • Ethical hacking competitions: The traditional CTF (Capture The Flag) challenge will be open to professionals, military, and students, with the addition this year of "Hack4EveryOne" intended for neuroatypical profiles.

Investor Day and what's new

  • Investor Day: An expanded event, renamed ECCC Access-2 Finance and Access-2-Market, will take place, offering startups and young companies opportunities to meet with investors.
  • BITFLIP Seminar: This new international seminar will address hardware and software hardening and protection, enriching the week's program.

Training day and cybersecurity societal issues

The training day, which was a great success last year, will be repeated and reinforced. It offers panels on careers and training paths in cybersecurity. The "Hack4EveryOne" challenge will emphasize inclusion and accessibility in the cybersecurity industry.

Expanded space and rich program

To accommodate the event's growing success, the entire space at the Couvent des Jacobins will be used. The European Cyber Camp will open its doors for training, recruitment, and networking sessions, with a job dating event scheduled for November 22.
